Alaska Airlines First Class: Decent food and great lounges; albeit with a basic seat and no in-seat IFE
Alaska’s largest lounge at SeaTac is an impressive domestic lounge.
As a OneWorld Emerald member as a result of my American Airlines Executive Platinum status, I have occasionally flown Alaska Airlines given the status credits to AA when you use your AAdvantange number.
I’ve flown Alaska to Seattle a few times in recent years and while their hard product is pretty average, their soft product is pretty good. Better than American.
Food is sourced locally in the Pacific Northwest. My favorites are their breakfasts. Great omelettes and potatoes. The cheese plate is a great option too if you don’t have the opportunity to pre-order your meal.
Fruit and cheese meal in Alaska Airlines first class is pretty decent.
Back to the hard product, the seats are basic in First Class. No IFE. Some of their 737s are a bit dated as well.
Since I also have the American Airlines Citi Executive Mastercard, I am able to get access into Alaska’s lounges, even when flying domestically. I’ve only had the opportunity to access their lounges in Seattle, but they are pretty exceptional. The food selection is leaps and bounds better than an Admirals Club or a United Lounge.
Their bars have local craft beer, and the setting at their largest lounge in Seattle is massive, with great views of the tarmac.
Here are a few meals I’ve had recently and some pictures from their lounge in at SeaTac.
